Maryam Nawaz Sharif made a visit to her mother’s tomb at Jati Umra before proceeding to the Punjab Assembly, where the chief minister election was held.

In a post on X, the PML-N stated that Maryam Nawaz Sharif also visited her paternal grandparents’ graves.
“For the first time in our country’s history, a woman would be elected chief minister of Punjab. Maryam Nawaz Sharif will be the first woman to take the oath as Chief Minister of Punjab,” the PML-N said in a post on X before to the election.
