Amalaki Ekadashi 2024: Rituals, Meaning, and Celebration
According to Drik Panchang, the end of Ekadashi’s fast is known as Parana. Parana is conducted after daybreak on the next day of the Ekadashi fast. It is crucial to break the Ekadashi fast before the conclusion of Dwadashi Tithi. Furthermore, the Ekadashi fast should not be interrupted, even on Hari Vasar. Devotees who are fasting should wait till Hari Vasar ends before breaking their fast.
On the day of the fast, devotees should recite the Ekadashi fast tale. It is claimed that reciting the Vrat Katha grants all wishes via Lord Vishnu’s favor, and that it leads to salvation and deliverance from all sins. They should also get up early in the morning to bathe and meditate. After that, clean the temple, spread a crimson cloth, place the idol or figure of Lord Vishnu, light a lamp, offer Amla, and worship Lord Vishnu. After the puja, place a Kalash beneath the Amla tree, worship it, and present incense, lamp, sandalwood, roli, flowers, and Akshat. One should also feed the impoverished and Brahmins.
