Ravindra Jadeja apologized to Sarfaraz Khan on Thursday for mistakenly running him out on the opening day of the third Test against England in Rajkot.Sarfaraz was cruising through his innings, scoring his first half-century in just 48 balls, but his bid to stay in the middle was cut short owing to a mix-up with Jadeja.The incident also resulted in Indian captain Rohit Sharma’s furious response in the dressing room, as the 36-year-old was spotted on video flinging away his cap following the run out.

Following the match, Jadeja apologized to Sarfaraz on Instagram. “I feel awful for Sarfaraz Khan. It was my bad decision. “Well played,” the seasoned all-rounder remarked in his Instagram story.Sarfaraz had already mentioned the event in the post-match news conference, stating that such incidents are normal in the game. “He came to the dressing room and said, ‘There was a miscommunication.'” I said, ‘Ye hota rehta hai’. “It’s part of the game,” Sarfaraz explained.

In his debut for India, Sarfaraz smashed nine fours and one maximum in a counter-attack after India lost four wickets, and he went on to add an 87-run partnership with Jadeja.Earlier, India won the toss and chose to bat first in Rajkot. The hosts, on the other hand, lost three wickets in the first session and were 33/3 when skipper Rohit Sharma was joined by Jadeja, and the two centurions of the day combined for a 204-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Despite losing five wickets, India finished the day with 326 runs on the board and Jadeja undefeated at 110, with Kuldeep Yadav having just started his account and Dhruv Jurel, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Axar Patel yet to come.
